TEAGUE -- Hubert Rudolph Teague M.D., 91, died in the evening Wednesday, February 1, 2006 surrounded by his five children. He is survived by his children, Stephen Teague and wife, Carol of Davis, CA, Cecelia Teague, Michael Teague, Kathleen Dennis and husband, Robert, Christopher Teague and wife, Devon, all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Kelly Teague, Anthony, Nicholas, and Alexander Pappas, Jennifer and Stephanie Dennis, and Vincent and Garrett Teague.
Dr. Teague was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Gleason Teague.
Hubert was born on January 23, 1915 in Washington, IN. He was raised in Evansville, IN where he graduated from Reitz Memorial High School. He was a Boy Scout of America, Eagle Scout. Hubert attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN he then went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from St. Louis University.
His senior class in medical school was accelerated as World War II had begun and doctors were in short supply. After nine months of internship in St. Louis, he joined the U.S. Army where he continued his internship at William Beaumont Hospital. He was sent to England and served from D-Day preparations through V-Day.
He and Mary Ann moved to "small town" Albuquerque in 1946. He cared for many families from birth to death. As a very humble individual he was always surprised when someone would come up to him and say they remembered him and what a wonderful doctor he was.
He was on the staff of Presbyterian and St. Joseph Hospital. He was a member of American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, New Mexico Medical Society, and Bernalillo County Medical Society. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Church of the Risen Savior, Optimists Club, Master Gardeners, and was a member of the founding board of the Little Brothers of Good Shepherd.
