DEATH OF MR BERRY "Hardtner Press Jan-27-1921.
Mr Berry who has been very ill the past several months,die d at the home
of his daughter Mrs.John Goebel,on Wednesday morning Jan.26 -1921.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon and int erment will
be in Fairview cemetery. Rev.Greenler will conduct the serv ice.

Benjamin Downing Berry was born in Salina county,Missouri
Aug.24th,1838,departed this life Jan.26th.1921,at the age o f 82 years,5
months 2 days.
He was united in marriage to Angeline Ellis April 11th,1868 .To this
union were born four children,David L.(died in infanc y),Ja mes
M.Capron.OK.Mrs John Goebel of Hardtner,KS.
and B.O.Berry o f Anthony, KS.

The deceased moved to Greenwood Co.KS.in the year 1882,live d there until
the Cherokee Strip opened to settlement,when he and his bro ther Joe made
the run from Hardtner,Kansas,both securing good claims nea r the Salt Fork
river.For the last fifteen years he made his home with his son Ot is of Anthony
and Mrs John Gobel of Hardtner. Besides his children he i s survived by
one brother and a number of relatives and friends.

Benjamin married Martha Angeline Ellis on 11 Apr 1868 in , Vernon, Missouri, USA.¹ (Martha Angeline Ellis was born in 1854 in , Pettis, Missouri, USA ⁷ ¹¹ and died on 18 Oct 1876 in Harwood, Vernon, Missouri, USA ⁸.)
