Hi Chuch, welcome home! Thanks for info. Yes, Mary is Mary Jane Wood Rob ertson. Yes, John P. Wood is the son of John & Nancy. I may have in fo on Edmond in will of either John Robertson or John Wood. Will look. F rom what I understand, The family moved from NC to Vigo Co, IN ca 1817 a nd from there to St. Joseph, MO and on to Troy, KS. There are lots of Wal tons there, too. I don't know about John & Nancy for sure, but believe th ey knew the Robertsons. The Woollens are also family members. Levin Wool len was in Rev. for MD and moved to NC. John Robertson married Sarah Wool len there then moved to Terre Haute. Was told that John was a wagon maste r, but doubt that. Move later, must go with daughter to stable. Thank s! Bonnie

Bonnie, I made a trip to the NARA at Sand Point (Seattle) a few days ago. I exam ined the Buchanan County, MO., Washington Township, 1850 census and fou nd the following entry for: Hugh Robinson age 28 b IN Mary age 28 b VA * Rebecca age 2 b MO Ed(ward or mond) M. Bromly age 10** Jeremal Bu??? age 10 Alex M. Baker age 23 Abigale Wollen age 40 Rebecca Wollen age 22 (p. 48b line 6 visistation number 657)
*I'm assuming this is your Mary Wood... ** I think this Edward on Edmond Bromly is related in some way to our Ge orge W. Bromley that married Martha Wood.
It occurred to me that the migration path for these folks may have be en through Iowa. Do you have any information regarding the migration path/ relationship of the Robinsons/Woods prior to Buchanan County, MO?
John Wood and Nancy are on page 48 line 19 visitation 652. Just below th em on line 26, visitation 653 is John P Wood age 28, b VA, and Elizabeth a ge 23 b Ireland (I think). Would this be a son of our John??

Bonnie,
We have received a copy of our Martha (Wood) Bromley's Civil War Pen sion application. One of the affidavits in the package is a an 1886 statem ent by Mary Robertson, aged 60, of East Norway, Doniphan County; she stat es she was present at the marriage of Martha and George Bromley in Buchan an County, Mo., (10/16/1850). The 1850 census info for John Wood that I se nt you without Mary listed makes sense, because Mary was probably marri ed and not in John's household. It appears to be Mary's own signature rath er than the usual witnessed 'X'.

Hi Chuck, thanks for all the emails you've sent. My husband & I ha ve been out of town. We returned just in time for the flood here in Houst on! Unfortunately, I have not researched the Wood or Carter familie s. I really need to get with it. I guess I don't want to go to the libra ry and spend hours there any more. When I finally get there, I will forwa rd on to you any info I can gather. Sounds like you are really into genea logy in a big way. I assume that you are retired. Wish we were.
Went to NY for a seminar and was able to go to New Lebanon, NY and a ctually find and photograph my ancestors' graves. Was really wonderf ul to go all that distance and find them. The cemetery is in rack and rui n. Everyone is gone. It's quite depressed there.
Well, must go. Thanks for keeping me informed. By the way, my pho ne number is: 713 666-1080 if you ever need to chat.
Blessings, Bonnie
