WILLIAM GRAY
William Gray, one of the old citizens of Carlinville, aged 70 years, di ed at 1:15 PM Saturday at his home on Spruce Street, following an illne ss of several weeks.
He is survived by two daughters, Bertie Gray and Minnie Gray of Carlinvill e, two sons John Gray of Carlinville, and Edward Gray of Jacksonville; o ne brother Edward Gray of Plainview, one sister Mrs. Rosa Russell of Io wa City, Iowa; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Heinz Funeral Home, Monday afternoon wi th Rev. Foulon, pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiating, intern ment was in the city cemetery.
The Pall Bearers were Thos. Malloy, Frank Devitt, William Fuess, E. Mefor d, Robert McCormick, and Frank Greenwalt. 2
William married Henrietta Van Meter, daughter of John Van Meter and Nancy Jane Gough, on 30 Nov 1882 in Macoupin Co., IL.1 2 (Henrietta Van Meter was born on 27 Oct 1859 in Polk Township, Chesterfield, Macoupin Co., IL. 1 2 and died on 25 Feb 1943 in Carlinville, IL 1 2.)
