·One eye had been shot out; Edith remembered him cleaning his glass eye
·Had three children, Audra Gertrude (June 10, 1896-April 30, 1994), Clifford Watson (March 07,1904-Oct. 11,1981), and Johnnie Allen (who was run over and killed by milk wagon; Johnnie-born 1906- buried in Roswell, 6-4-1920)
·Dec. 23, 1913 moved the family from Perry, OK to Roswell in a covered wagon
·John and Stella did not live together at the time of their deaths
