"June 27 [1935] Floyd (Ned) Rogers, son of Watson and Mary Rogers, born in Reger, died at home in Hurdland, MO 20 Jun 1935 aged 49 years 8 days. 1910 married Nellie Fisher. 1927 to Hurdland where depot agent. 3 children, Doris, Etha and Neddie. Also left are sisters and brothers, Ida Tunnell and Ada Smith, Reger; Alpha Long, Harris MO; Willie, Milan; Clarence of Kansas City; Gene of Reger. Burial Schrock Cemetery."

Prentice Floyd Rogers, Q. O. & K. C. Railroad station agent and telegraph operator at Hurdland the last nine years, died at his home at the age of 49 years. Death, from heart disease, was sudden, Mr. Rogers being in customary health until late in the afternoon.

Funeral services were at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Reger, Mo., former home of Mr. Rogers, at the Methodist Church by the Rev. L. Earl Snyder of Trenton. Burial was at Reger.

Surviving are Mr. Roger's widow and three children: Mrs. Doris Newmeyer, Trenton, Mo., Mrs. Etha Landis, Kansas City, and Ned Rogers, at home. Also surviving are his father, Watson Rogers and six brothers and sisters: Willie Rogers, Milan, Mo., Clarence Rogers, Kansas City, and Gene Rogers, Mrs. Ada Smth, Mrs. Ida Tunnell and Mrs. Alpha Long, Reger.

Prentice Floyd Rogers was born June 12, 1886 at Reger, a son of Watson and Mary Clements Rogers. He lived most of his life at Reger where he married Miss Nellie Fisher April 9, 1910. To them were born five children, of whom two are dead.

Both Mrs. and Mrs. Rogers were telegraph operators for the railroad at Reger before marriage and continued their work there until Mr. Rogers was transferred to Hurdland"

Both parties were very reticient about the matter and registered at the Perry Hotel under the euphonius name of "Sam Jones and Wife" of Kirksville. They couldn't help but give it away before they left town, so happy were they over the event" 2
