TAHPANES WARD was the daughter of RICHARD & FRANCES WARD as proven by t he WARD FAMILY RECORD that was passed down through the generations to MA RY ANN HANSARD WILSON. TAHPANES WARD was born March 29, 1729 probably in B runswick County, Virginia. She married PhillipWEBBER March 14th, 1751 in C umberland County, Virginia. She died, leaving a will January 20th, 17 94 in Cumberland County, Virginia. She raised a family of six sons and o ne daughter

On October 14th, 1751, at the age of twenty-one, TAHPANES WARD married Phi llipWEBBER, son of PhillipWEBBER and ANNIS PAISLEY, in Cumberland Count y, Virginia.

On September 5th, 1754, Prince Edward County, Patent Book 25:217 [Sa me as listed in Amelia County Patent Book 25:217]:
RICHARD WARD of Cumberland County gifted to his daughter TAHPENES WA RD of Cumberland County, as a deed of gift, 400 acres in Prince Edward Cou nty, on Appomattox River, adjoining JOSEPH WARD, JOHN JOHNSON, DAVID GREEN HILL, formerly HENRY DAWSON. Witness: BENJAMIN WARD. (Prince Edward Record s, Deed Book I, page 15) This is the same 400 acres that RICHARD WARD acqu ired August 28th, 1746 in Prince Edward County, prior to the formati on of that county from Amelia County in 1753. Amelia County (later Prin ce Edward), 400 acres S side Appomattox River adjoining Osborne's line, be ginning at Osborne's corner white oak on the river; formerly granted to JO HN DAWSON, since deceased, 30 July 1738, and HENRY DAWSON, son & heir of s aid JOHN DAWSON, failing to seat, same is now granted to RICHARD WARD. The will of RICHARD WARD of Cornwall Parish, Lunenburg County, dated Novem ber 17, 1759, probated February 2, 1762, devised to son BENJAMIN WARD, 1 20 acres in Cumberland Parish (or county) adjoining James Brown, Jonas Ren uls, and Valentine Colley; to daughter TAHPENAHS WARD, 1 shilling; wife MA RY WARD is loaned 6 Negroes during her life and is given a feather beds a nd furniture, riding horse, side saddle, etc, also 356 acres in Lunenbu rg County between WILLIAM FUQUA and LENNARD WARD; to child wife is now wit h, 150 acres in Chesterfield County (between ELIZA GAY and SETH WARD, betw een the road and the river and also 101 acres in Cumberland County betwe en Angolea Creek and Appomattox River and also the land I now enjoy in Lun enburg County and all the Negroes and everything I am possessed with in Cu mberland County and also in Lunenburg County and 6 Negroes I lent my wif e.
Executors: friend, SEATH WARD & PERRIN ALDAY.

1794, 20 January -- Will of Tahpenes Ward Webber (written at age 65)
Cumberland County, Virginia Will Book #3, page 46, 1792-1810, dated 20 Jan uary 1794
"TAHPENES WEBBER in Cumberland County, though weak in body but of a sou nd mind and memory at present, do make and ordain this my last will and te stament in manner and form following to wit. I appoint all my lan ds to be sold on such terms as my executors shall think proper and the mon ey arising from the sale to be equally divided between my four sons and da ughters, namely BENJAMIN WEBBER, SETH WEBBER, JOHN WEBBER, SIMEON WEBBER,a nd ANN WEBBER, my sons RICHARD WEBBER and PhillipWEBBER excluded. Provi se should not give my son JOHN WEBBER obtain a good right to a tract of la nd in Prince Edward County which I have made him a deed for. (poorly writt en sentence]. I exclude him from my part of the money arising from the sa le of my lands and the money to be divided between the above mentioned. Ph illipWEBBER and JOHN MOSELY executors of this my last will and testamen t. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20 Janua ry 1794
